Easy 10-Step Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon on a Bagel Recipe

Our 14-year-old daughter decided to get creative in the kitchen and came up with this awesome recipe for Beachy Munchies! She even wrote out the steps so we could share it with you. Ready for some deliciousness? Check out our easy 10-step Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon on a Bagel recipe!

  1. Pick out a nice piece of salmon. We used sockeye salmon for this recipe.
  2. Mix 1 cup of water, 1/4 cup of kosher salt, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and a splash of lemon juice, then pour into a baggie.
  3. Let the salmon sit in the brine for an hour.
  4. Completely dry the salmon (check out photo 1 to see how it looked after the brine).
  5. Rub a little olive oil on the salmon to help the seasoning stick.
  6. Season it with your favorite BBQ rub. We used our Sandy BBQ Rub from Beachy Munchies (photo 2 shows how it looked right before going on the smoker).
  7. Get your smoker ready. We set ours to 225 degrees.
  8. Once your smoker is up to temp, place the salmon in the smoker and let it smoke until it reaches 145 degrees (ours hit 149 but was still perfect). Check out photo 3 to see how the salmon looked right before we took it off the smoker.
  9. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes.
  10. Grab your favorite cream cheese—we used garlic and herbs whipped. Mix in the smoked salmon (about a 1:1 ratio) and spread on a bagel of your choice. We used everything bagels. Check out the final photo!
